Better printing with this dualgear extruder

The new dual gear extruder works very well. It makes it possible to convey the filament accurately even at slightly faster speeds.
Unfortunately the motor shaft is too short for the beautiful red threading wheel.

The extruder worked correctly.

Doesn't work correctly

Unfortunately, after installing this extruder it just doesn't feed correctly.

The drive gear works just fine - but the secondary gear just clicks. It's like there's either too much friction for it to turn or the teeth are too far apart so it just won't push filament.

Oddly enough, the Load Filament function works correctly but when I try to print it just clicks and filament doesn't feed.

Happy about the dual gear extruder!

The normal extruder works mostly fine, but sometimes the dual gear extruder will make the difference. If your spool is poorly wound, it will make the little extra for a working/good print.
The mechanical structure is almost identical (except the additional gear) so it will cost extra 2 cents more (for the manufacturer) than the 'normal' extruder. Why will Kywoo did not use this extruder by default? I find it almost annoying to change the extruder for ~$15 because of this one simple gear.
But at least, I recommend the dual gear extruder, because of the little extra safety for your print.
BTW: Don't worry, after replacement there's no room on the axis for the red extruder wheel - I will not really miss it...

Service sucks

Came with no instructions on how to install it, nor how to configure the e-steps after the installation. Honestly would not recommend Kywoo products. Go with Creality or Prusia

Note: this kit is suitable for Kywoo Tycoon series 3D printers. The motor is not included.

Attention: If you want to install and use the dual gear extruder, you have to reflash the firmware to V2.1.3 and set the E steps from 93 to 127.4 in your settings. Pls also remember to follow the datum line when you install it. Otherwise the extruder may couldn't work normally. (PS 1: The firmware of IDEX is V2.2, you can directly set Esteps to 127.4 and don't need to reflash the firmware. PS 2: Pls note that Mini couldn't use the dual gear extruder.) If you need the firmware V2.1.3, pls contact with service@kywoo3d.com and tell us which printer you have(Tycoon, Max or Slim), we will send the firmware to you asap. No worry.
